A custom to Shopify migration for a leading enterprise brand

Daily Harvest partnered with Domaine to migrate from a custom platform to Shopify to lower costs, improve system reliability, and gain efficiencies. We began by helping the leading enterprise brand evaluate a headless approach vs. a liquid build. Daily Harvest chose liquid so that we could move faster and take advantage of future Shopify product releases, resulting in the launch of a robust, scalable, and efficient digital storefront.

Headless vs. Shopify liquid

The Domaine team gained Daily Harvest’s trust by providing a transparent and unbiased review of whether the new site should be built on headless or Shopify’s liquid theme. They valued our expertise as we considered their long-term goals, team size, and desired features to showcase both options, concluding that we can achieve feature parity with a liquid build while increasing efficiency down the line.

Seamless subscription with Ordergroove

We created a custom integration with Ordergroove as the subscription management model. Bundling was paramount, as most Daily Harvest customers order multiple meals per delivery. All features are seamlessly integrated into the design of the site.

Custom solutions & features

We built a custom app for stock management, allowing their team to sunset products based on seasonality and easily replace them within a subscribed client’s delivery. The Domaine team also developed custom middleware to connect the online store with the mobile app, a Hydrogen app that is hosted on Oxygen (Shopify’s existing architecture).

Multiple Integrations

We integrated Shopify Search & Discovery for AI-powered recommendations, as well as Klaviyo for marketing and reviews. Other integrations included their chat system on Quiq linking to their customer portal, Transcend for privacy consent, Friendbuy for loyalty and referrals, Kustomer for CX, and Celigo + Netsuite for ERP.
