Assouline
Refining design & user experience for a global luxury brand
Assouline, renowned for its luxurious and beautifully crafted books, needed an ecommerce store that would truly embody its brand. Their previous site fell short in capturing the elevated essence needed to match the sophistication of its products and physical retail presence. We refined the Shopify website's design and user experience (UX) through visual storytelling, augmented reality (AR), and authentic special moments.
Our approach focused on enhancing the design and user experience without altering the site's core components. We emphasized custom features that highlighted Assouline’s unique offerings, such as their flagship store Maison Assouline and restaurant Swans Bar. The design was meticulously crafted to create special moments, ensuring the site felt grand and personal.
Sophisticated design features
We introduced responsive text that grows with large, full-bleed images, mirroring the grandeur of Assouline’s books. Premium elements, like subtle animations, full bleed editorial imagery, and animated PDPs, were implemented to elevate the site’s sophistication.
Visual storytelling
The site now includes wide, luxurious photos and special moments for the ‘Ultimate’ collection, with the ability to feature videos above product cards. A cohesive lightbox experience connects everything to a gallery below, adding a layer of storytelling that aligns with Assouline’s brand ethos.
Augmented reality
To convey the scale of Assouline’s Ultimate Collection, we implemented 3D models for an interactive way to showcase all the unique details of the book. Assouline customers can also view the book in their home with the integrated AR functionality that is accessible on mobile.
Gifting & personalization
Personalization features that we've implemented such as Assouline's Signature Wax Seal Gift Wrapping and a custom gift message are available on the PDP and in the cart, to bring the ultimate gifting experience to life.
Culture Lounge
We are thrilled to launch the ASSOULINE Culture Lounge, their new digital content platform. This expansive blog features a variety of content types, from articles, podcasts, videos, and more, while remaining true to the brand ethos.
